The frigid expanse is dotted with steaming holes as remnants of volcanic activity. Asahi-dake is the tallest mountain on the Japanese island of Hokkaido and is popular with skiers and snowboarders.

A group of skiers is determined in ascending the mountain peak to experience the lightness of going down over fresh snow. This is a portrayal of a truly monastic experience of earning the right to ascension and bliss.
